Marlene Where Are You??

I heard there is a party this weekend.  I heard that someone MIGHT be turning 50 [Joe], but I am not sure!!!  I used to get a newsletter from Marlene about soccer games and football.  I also would see the latest pictures of a certain someones [Marlene's] grandchildren.  Come on girl!  Where are you?!

Well, until I hear from someone about something happening in Rosebud.  You’ll just have to keep reading about mi vida loca.

About ten years ago, I decided to take Donnie to meet the Family in Rosebud.  I said everything I should say BEFORE, we went.  I talked nervously all the way from Houston to The Bud about what he should expect.  All to no avail.  Nikki, I KNOW YOU KNOW what I’m talking about…anyway…as we pulled into the city limits, Donnie talked about how the town reminded him of the town in Minnesota where he grew up.  I continued with directions to Uncle Joe’s.

That weekend was chock-full of firsts for Donnie most notably his first beer with breakfast, and he ate a tamale without the husk.  Although he drew the line at menudo.  Even Michael had such a good time that for the last ten years he been saying when he gets married he going to have his wedding in Rosebud.

So where is everybody?

The Patton Family

A Beautiful Beginning

Congratulations Nerissa & David.  Ryan is so handsome.

We are all so proud of both of you, and just can’t wait to see Ryan in person.

I am sure you have heard this a thousand times, and you may hear it a thousand more times; Enjoy each and everyday with him, even when tests your patience.  Especially when he tries to crunch aluminum cans with garage door.  Or when he tinkles on the floor and blames it on his toy dog.  I think Aunt Lucia will even have a bike to give him to replace the new one you bought him when he decides to fix it himself.  He will find great entertainment in playing with the box his playhouse comes in, and be sad on the day David has to put it out with the garbage.

When he gets older he may even find that yours and David’s decisions are somewhat unreasonable.  What do you do?  You look at one other and say, “Did I just hear my parent’s words come out of my mouth?”  Yes, you did.  And through all this remember one thing; before he was born you would’ve never considered picking someone elses nose or killing a roach with your bare hand to keep it from crawling on him.

Seventeen years ago I hoped that my baby would never grow up.  Now, I live for each new day I get to spend with all of them.

We are all anxiously awaiting Nerrisa and David’s new baby.  Ryan Matthew we just can’t wait to see you!

And for all of us who are already here, WELCOME TO THE BLOG!  I am very excited about it, and I hope this becomes a great way for all of us to stay close and in touch.  You are welcome to leave comments here or send me an email if you have announcements, pictures or family video’s you would like to share.  I can’t guarantee that I will always have something to share, but you all know me and a loss for words is unusual.  I will do my best.  In the meantime, I am waiting by the phone to hear from soon-to-be Grandma and Grandpa Salazar.
