Prayer Request for Grandpa

Sorry I haven’t been blogging as often and I would like, but it’s taken a while to come up with a number of valid excuses, here I go:

  • Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays are consumed with running, and I don’t want to bore you
  • Kayla is home from college for the summer, so I have someone willing to pretend to listen to me whine
  • My family hasn’t done anything funny lately.

The real excuse is, I have just been busy; but I’ll NEVER be too busy for Grandpa.

Grandpa needs prayer, now more than ever, and everyday.  Rosie told me yesterday that he is in the hospital in Austin; the days are good and not so good.  Please pray for him, pray for his comfort, and the comfort of his family.  That means you too.  Grandpa, was never too busy for us, he loves us and would still give us Snickers and Dr. Pepper if he could.

  1. Went to see Dad. No real change. Although he really did not drink it, he agreed to a Dr. Pepper.
I often wonder want Mom would say to me right now. I pray that I’m doing right by Dad. He is longer able to tell me much therefore I do alot of guessing. I know for sure he really enjoys a good “back scratch”.

  2. Uncle Paul is always in my prayers as well as all the family. Irene you have a special prayer, because all that you do for uncle Paul.(I am not excluding Rosie or Lulu, because they would do the same, if they lived in Austin) We are so very blessed to have, aunt Mickie, Mom and Dad to intercede for us.
    God Bless and Love you,
    Alice

  3. Thanks for the prayers. I’m not sure how much he absorbs but I did tell him that Petersburg church was 50 years old and that there was a celebration going on. He use to always talk about how he, along with others, worked at one thing or another to help build that church.
He is hanging in there, He went on Hospice four days ago. I believe that will give that extra attention he needs to keep him comfortable.
Lulu came to see him Sunday, He really seemed to light up when she got here. He even drank some Dr. Pepper for her.
Today the Priest came to see him. He really seemed at ease.
